ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670.
AMD's ATI Mobilty Radeon HD 4670 is a DirectX 10.1 compatible graphics card for mid-range notebooks. It has a higher clock speed than the Mobility Radeon HD 4650.
The gaming performance of the card is between Desktop 4650 and HD 4670. Thus, DirectX 9 games (eg Call Of Duty 4, FEAR and Unreal Tournament 3) run in high detail (1024×768). 2008 games that require DX10, such as Crysis, only run fluently in medium detail.
The ATI Mobilty Radeon HD 4670 is based on the RV730 chip and uses 320 stream processors (64 5D shader cores). These cores do the work of the shaders and pipelines of older graphics cards. Stream processors are also called ALUs and are grouped into 5 VLIW units. Each of the 5 blocks must be independent of the others and therefore performance depends on driver optimization.
The Radeon HD 4600 has the ability to use conventional DDR2 and DDR3 graphics memory (as a cheaper alternative to GDDR3). However, cards that use such memory will run slower than those equipped with GDDR memory.
The Mobility Radeon HD 4670 includes Avivo https://jiji.co.ke/cars/range-rover-vogue HD technology, which includes an integrated sound chip for 7.1 audio output via HDMI or Display port and second generation UVD. UVD 2 supports H.264/MPEG-4 AVC and VC-1. In short, Avivo HD technology handles all video tasks and allows the graphics adapter to decode HD video on its own, offloading the CPU.
In addition to this, it also supports dual video stream decoding and picture-in-picture mode, which makes UVD fully compatible with BD-Live. Simply put, Avivo HD Video technology handles all tasks on its own and allows the GPU to decode HD video on its own.
AMD reports a power consumption of 28-30 watts for the HD 4670. However, it remains unclear whether this is true for the graphics chip alone or for the entire MXM card, including memory (which requires about 5 watts). However, the run time should be comparable to a notebook with a GeForce 9600M GT/GT graphics card.
